Our Philosophy

The Oceania Karate Federation (OKF) is the governing body of sport karate of the 12 national federations in the Oceania region. The OKF is a non-profit organization and performs its activities on an amateur basis in compliance with the principles set forth in the Olympic Charter, duly recognized by the World Karate Federation, the largest international governing body of sport karate with over 190 member countries. It is the only karate organization recognised by the International Olympic Committee and has more than ten million members. The OKF organizes the Oceania Karate Championships, every two years.

The Asian Pacific Union of Karatedo Organizations (APUKO) was founded in 1973. The 1st Asian Pacific Karate-Do Championships was held in Singapore. 12 Countries with a double knockout format in the team competition.

In 1992 APUKO was split into into the Asian Union of Karatedo Organizations (AUKO),  later Asian Karatedo Federations (AKF) and the Oceania Karate Federation (OKF)
